Globeleq provides safe, reliable power in Africa. We develop, own and operate thermal and renewable independent power plants (“IPPs”), ultimately seeking to increase Africa’s overall power generating capacity.

Since it was founded in 2002, Globeleq has participated in independent power projects totalling nearly 14,000 MWs of generating capacity in 27 countries; and has invested approximately US$1.3 billion of equity across 44 different power projects.

Today, Globeleq remains an active participant in the Africa power sector and aims to catalyse a significant increase in power generation capacity across the continent. We are uniquely positioned to support the development of more generation capacity that will provide safe, reliable power for the grid as cleanly as possible..

Supported by committed shareholders and a team of dedicated professionals experienced in the financing, development and operation of generation assets in the emerging markets, Globeleq continues to actively pursue opportunities for project development across all phases. This ranges from the earlier stage projects through to the expansion of operational assets.
