Globeleq to sell minority interest in Guatemalan geothermal generator

Globeleq, the emerging markets power company, announced today the sale of the 14% minority equity interest in Orzunil, a 24 megawatt (MW) geothermal generator in Guatemala to a subsidary of Ormat Technologies. Globeleq had managed the Orzunil equity investment on behalf of its shareholder, CDC Group plc.

“This sale is another step in our program of divesting minority interests to focus more intently on building robust regional generation businesses as platforms for future growth,” said Steve Pearlman, Globeleq Executive Vice President for the Americas.
