Globeleq profiled in Financial Times

Globeleq was profiled in the September 14 Financial Times annual supplement on Business and Development. The article, entitled 'Specialist in Emerging Markets', is based in part on an interview with Bob Hart, describes Globeleq's history and states, '[Globeleq] believes there is one area in which investments which are purely commercial can make a big difference - giving more of the world's population access to electricity.'

The article quotes Bob Hart, 'The difficulties of working in emerging markets are clearly numerous. But I'll go head to head right now against the domestic utilities of western Europe and North America on the yield of our investments, the quality of our investments and the quality of the contracts that support those investments.' Commenting on the the use of loans from multilateral lending agencies for power projects in the developing world, Mr. Hart stated: 'In sectors where private investment interest is present, don't use that precious public funding.'
