Songas Recognized for Safety & Health Standards

Songas scooped three awards during Tanzania’s Occupational Safety and Health Authority's exhibition at the Mlimani City Conference Center.

The company won:
1. ”Overall Winner on Occupational Health and Safety 2011/2012”
2. “Best Performance 2011/2012 - Energy Exhibition on Occupational Health and Safety
3. “Contributor on Occupational Health and Safety Awareness in the Country 2012.

Receiving the Awards, the Managing Director for Songas, Christopher Ford, congratulated OSHA for having these annual events to highlight the importance for companies to ensure the working environments are safe and healthy for both employees and the communities near the companies’ operations.

OSHA is part of the Tanzanian Ministry of Labour and Employment and promotes safety, health and well being of workers by providing technical advice, monitoring and regulating OSH standards in order to maintain a safe and healthy workplace.
