Henry Aszklar to step down as CEO
LONDON: 21 March 2017: Henry Aszklar has decided to step down as CEO of Globeleq for personal reasons, effective from 1 June 2017.
Under Henry’s leadership, Globeleq has increased the business development team and expanded the development pipeline of power projects in sub-Saharan Africa to now include more challenging parts of the continent. His team has also worked hard to unite its operating assets in one platform and maintain operational excellence across its many power plants.
The Board has begun the process of finding a new CEO and has already hired an executive search firm to assist.
Henry Aszklar said: “I joined Globeleq because of the opportunity to reposition the leading private power company in Africa and firmly believe the direction is clear in our journey towards Powering Africa’s Growth. The next phase is about execution of the plans we have established. I have decided to step down for family reasons and move back to the US to spend more time with my family. I believe this is the most appropriate time for Globeleq’s leadership to make this transition for the next phase of growth.
