The 460 MW Azito power plant generates electricity using natural gas supplied from the country’s offshore gas fields. Located in the village of Azito in the district of Yopougon, the facility generates around one-quarter of the country’s base load electricity to the national utility company. Globeleq, through its subsidiary company Azito Energie, is currently managing construction of the Phase 4 expansion of the Azito plant which will add an additional 253 MW once operations commence.
