Songas’ HR Manager Graduates from “Effective Leadership during Changing Environments” Programme

On 19 November, 2018, Agatha Keenja, Songas’ Human Resource Manager graduated from a 12 month programme run by the Association of Tanzania Employers (ATE) in collaboration with the Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise (NHO) in partnership with Eastern & Southern African Management Institute (ESAMI) “Effective Leadership during Changing Environments”.

This aims to attract more women into management positions, decision making processes and to participate on Boards as Directors of Companies. The event was officiated by the Hon. Jenista Mhagama, Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s office responsible for Policy, Parliamentary Affairs, Labour, Employment, Youth and the Disabled.

By having employees on this programme, the company will be able to develop non-gender biased leadership at the apex which increases effectiveness and risk management through developing and implementing growth strategies. The company will also form part of results through addressing a number of sustainable development goals: quality education, gender equality, decent work and economic growth in Tanzania. After completion of the programme the participants will be registered as accredited directors of boards and professional leadership mentors.
